Can endometriosis cause infertility?

Jazmine, knew that she always marched to the beat of her own drummer. Whereas all her sorority sisters marched down the isle right after graduation, went off birth control and started welcoming little bundles of joy into their lives, Jazmine wanted a career in higher education.

“I was pursuing my master’s degree in educational leadership when we got married. And while I went off birth control, I wasn't in any rush to start a family. But, eight months turned to eight years without a pregnancy” Jazmine says.

Jazmine is one of the 50% of women with endometriosis, who’s condition causes infertility. She was used to the painful heavy periods, bloating and nausea, fatigue and dizziness while on her cycle. “I honestly thought all of that was normal while on your period, because it is what my mother and sisters had as well.” Jazmine shared.

When Jazmine blew out the 35 candles on her birthday cake last year, she had a vision that she needed to get serious about starting a family. She discussed it with her husband Marcus, and they decided it was time to take their fertility seriously. They couldn't believe it took 3 more months for their OBGYN appointment. And when the day finally came, she was poked and prodded, put in a gown, and had what felt like a liter of blood removed. After all the worry and inconvenience, the results of her tests showed one thing: Endometriosis.

Endometriosis was not only the cause of her heavy bleeding, painful periods, extreme exhaustion and dizziness while on her cycle, but also the reason she hadn’t conceived in eight years of marriage!

“When I asked what the solution was, the OBGYN gave me a brochure for the IVF clinic, and I panicked.” Jazmine reveals. “My husband and I did not not want to go down a murky path that didn't align with our faith. I was nervous that I had missed the boat on having children naturally which put me in a bad way.”

Jazmine and her husband heard about Peachtree City Acupuncture from one of their friends at church, and they were booked for a consultation the following week. “If you would have told me Peachtree City Acupuncture was the solution to my infertility woes, I wouldn't have believed you.” Jazmine remarks “But after working with Dr. Frank and the entire team, I have never felt so supported. And if you need any more proof, it is in our healthy baby girl Delilah!.”

“Endometriosis can cause infertility in at least six different ways”, Dr. Mara Frank explains, “through hormonal changes in the body, by reducing total egg quality, through disrupting implantation, causing pelvic adhesions which inhibit sperm motility, and increasing the overall inflammatory load.”

Women with endometriosis make excellent candidates for treatment at Peachtree City Acupuncture. The use of acupuncture, combined with ATP Bioresonance Therapy® and with targeted herbal medicine yield amazing results in helping couples conceive.

“I have lost count of all the acu-babies we have around here.” says Klarissa, a clinical support assistant at Peachtree City acupuncture, “It is so rewarding to watch every month, women come to us full of doubts and fear, and then they are transformed into happy, glowing Mama’s to be within a few months!”

Dr. Frank is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She brings over 15 years of clinical experience and a healing presence to the couples she supports. Most patients continue treatment through conception, pregnancy, and the birth of their babies.

“It is extremely rewarding and beautiful.” Says Dr. Mara “It is a blessing to be able to honor couples' wishes to conceive naturally.”
